MS's giving people the option to buy the 1080p cable for the few that wan't and can afford the TV's that can surrport it down the road. Sony's selling 1080p in the hope rich people will buy it and is also hoping a large number of people will buy it PS3 not really understanding whats involved but are still tricked from the 1080p as it is the latest thing and who can resist that.
